TGIT Happy Hour June 17, 5:00pm – 6:00pm, Winchester’s

seared tuna and beer

We are baaaack!! Mask requirements for vaccinated people are being lifted June 15th and we can now meet in person!

The Los Padres Ski and Social Club will host their TGIT happy hour Thursday, June 17 from 5 – 6:30 pm at Winchester’s Grill &  Saloon, 632 East Main Street in downtown Ventura (across the street from the library).

We are so excited as this will be our first club event at a restaurant in a long, long time. Winchester’s has a great happy hour menu and there will be live music. Meet us outside at the back of the patio. Woohoo – can’t wait to see you! As we are unsure of Winchester’s COVID requirements, so please bring a mask just in case, even if you are vaccinated.

Winchester’s Happy Hour menu can be found at: https://www.winchestersgrill.com/bar-and-beer#menu=happy-hour.

Thursday’s entertainment is by The Swilly’s and features acoustic covers and sweet harmonies: https://www.winchestersgrill.com/events/the-swillys-6.

TGIT Socially Distanced Happy Hour, Thursday, October 29, 5:00pm

Our August TGIT HH at the Ventura Harbor was a huge success. We sat masked, socially distanced in chairs we each brought and munched and drank on food and drink that we brought or purchased at a Harbor restaurant. We even had two raffle winners. We will recap that event on Thursday, Oct 29 at 5:00 PM. Since it will be just before Halloween, feel free to come in costume. We know you will be wearing a mask anyway.  This is just before the end of Daylight Savings and the weather is turning cooler, therefore, this will be our last club TGIT HH until it is safe to meet in a restaurant.
Important details:

  • If you haven’t renewed your membership, bring your completed membership form (attached) and dues; see details below.
  • Meet at 5:00 in Ventura Harbor at the “Take Out Zone” — the grassy main lawn between old Blackbeard’s and Island Packers. https://venturaharbor.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Map-P1.pdf  (It’s the square, green area with the #5 on the map).
  • Masks (when not eating or drinking) and social distancing are required. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Just hang out or order take-out (drinks too) from the local restaurants.
  • We are not requiring an RSVP, but if our group gets too large, we will break into smaller groups to follow local COVID guidelines.
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home and we will catch you another time!
  • We plan to have a raffle if enough members attend, with some great prizes!
  • We look forward to seeing you and enjoying a harbor sunset!
  • PS, we recommend you order ahead for food and libations since there can be lines at some of the restaurants:  Dine – Ventura Harbor Village

Social Distancing TGIT, Thursday, June 4th 5:30pm – 7:30pm

TGIT is back – but with a lot of changes!

You are invited to a social distancing TGIT at a private home in Ventura June 4, 5:30pm – 7:30pm.

Given that precautions must be taken due to COVID 19 it is mandatory that the following be followed: (OK, I know this is redundant because we all want to keep each other — and ourselves — safe)

  • Space is limited to 15 participants. We will have a wait list if necessary.
  • Do not come if you are feeling ill or have a fever.
  • You must RSVP (and you will get the address and parking instructions).
  • Event will be outdoors (dress accordingly).
  • Masks must be worn when not eating or drinking and you are expected to keep your distance when not sitting.
  • You will be assigned a seat which will be at least 6′ from others. Let us know if you “are staying safe” with someone you can sit close to.
  • This is a BYOB & E event – you must bring EVERYTHING you will need – food, drink, plate, cup, utensils etc. Host will not provide! Don’t even think about using the microwave.
  • The bathroom to be used is on the second floor – climbing stairs should not be an issue for you.
  • Plan on having a wonderful gathering with your club buds!!!!
